South Africa 2024: International Development Tour
South Africa Tour: 14 - 23 July 2024
The purpose of this tour is to build on last year's successful trip. With the growing social and intellectual challenges faced by South African Muslims the need to build relationships with key organisations is a high priority. The focus of this trip is to develop, empower and support organisations and individuals in South Africa to intellectually share and defend Islam.
This trip will aim to address the key intellectual and social challenges faced by Muslims in South Africa. These include liberalism, zionism, atheism, the LGBTQ+ ideology and Christian apologetics.
During this trip we will engage in a key debate to challenge the false claim that the Biblical conception of God's love is greater and maximally perfect than Islam's conception. This misconception has been addressed thoroughly in Dr. Osman Latiff's work, Divine Perfection, and we aim to popularise his arguments during this trip, in-shā-a-Allāh.
Our CEO Hamza Andreas Tzortzis will be visiting Durban, Cape Town, Pretoria, Johannesburg and Drakensburg from 14 July to 23 July 2024. The Visionaries 3 day masterclass will be held in Durban in collaboration with Sabeel. Dr. Shaykh Haitham Al-Haddad and Dr. Salman Butt will be joining Hamza for masterclass and they will also be delivering lectures and engaging in meetings throughout their trip.
Building from the success of last year's trip, there is a great need to engaged in intellectually sharing and defending Islam, and to further strengthen existing relationships with various da'wah organisations, including IPCI and Markaz Manar al-Fikr. South African Muslims are facing intellectual and social challenged from liberalism, LGBTQ+ ideology, atheism and Christian apologetics. Our role in serving our brothers and sisters, including the local scholars, is to help empower, develop and support individuals and organisations to defend and share Islam intellectually, whilst helping them be beacons of light to their fellow citizens.
